Springbank 25 Years 2021 is a long-aged Campbeltown single malt bottled at 46% and matured in a carefully composed cask mix of 70% sherry, 15% bourbon and 15% rum casks.
Produced entirely on site at Springbank distillery, from floor malting through to bottling, this release reflects the distillery’s traditional and hands-on approach.
The sherry component brings depth and dried fruit character, while bourbon casks contribute structure and vanilla, and the rum casks add subtle lift and complexity. Expect notes of orange peel, apricot, honeyed malt and polished oak, supported by the faint maritime salinity that defines Campbeltown.
With an outturn of approximately 1,400 bottles worldwide, the 2021 edition sits among the more composed long-aged releases from Springbank in recent years.
A serious bottle for those who follow the distillery closely, offering maturity without excess wood dominance.
Springbank is now in the 5th generation of the Mitchell family. The distillery and practice reach back into the old times of a one site production. Since 1828, Springbank has focused on whisky with the Campbeltown flair, maintaining many of the traditional processes used by their ancestors. The team at Springbank is dedicated to quality, and is the only distillery in Scotland to produce three different malts on one site, giving the whisky drinker a mix of tastes and experiences to enjoy.
